The Chevy Bel Air was produced by Chevrolet, a division of General Motors, from 1953 to 1975. In 1953 the Bel Air name was applied to the premium model and in 1955 they gained the V8 engine option, new styling, and the nickname “Hot One”. These Bel Airs came with interior carpet, chrome headliner bands on hardtops, chrome spears on the front fenders, chrome window moldings, and full wheel covers. Detroit rolled our twenty years of tail fins, chrome and roomy interiors but the ’55,’56 and ’57 Bel Airs are the most popular among collectors and car enthusiasts.
